Past Sessions
Sunday, March 7, 2021 23 Adar 5781 - 1:30 PM - 2:45 PM - Zoom
Saturday, March 6, 2021 22 Adar 5781 - 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM - Zoom

A Shabbat and weekend bringing Jews across the United States and around the world together to take action for refugees and asylum seekers.

More than 80 million people worldwide have fled their homes due to persecution and violence, making us witnesses to one of the largest humanitarian crises in human history.

Saturday, March 6, 8PM: Havdalah (Click here to register)
Come together with hundreds of fellow concerned Jews across the globe to send out Shabbat with a joyful havdalah service led by HIAS Rabbi-in-Residence Rachel Grant Meyer, Rabbi Yosef Goldman, and Rabbi Annie Lewis. Our blessings will be woven together with the voices of historical and contemporary refugees. We will also enjoy a live performance of the song “You Were Strangers” from the spiritual folk-rock show REVIVAL written by Kristen Plylar-Moore and performed this evening by musicians Lea Kalisch, Julia Ostrov, and Rabbi Tobias Moss.

Sunday, March 7 at 1:30PM: Learn and Share (Click here to register)
Join an afternoon conversation to hear from colleagues at HIAS and other organizations working with Jewish communities in Europe, Canada, Latin America, and the United States in support of and in solidarity with displaced people, and explore how the emergent global Jewish movement for refugees is evolving.
