Welcoming Your Baby to the Jewish Community

Welcoming a new baby to our community is a joyous and momentous occasion.

Whether you are expecting or have recently had a child, our Rabbinic team is here to assist you with making your baby naming, brit milah, simchat bat or pidyon haben a meaningful experience.  Please call or email Rav Steven or Rabbanit Bracha with any questions you have in advance and to let them know when the baby is born.

If you are adopting a child, some practices and customs may be done differently.  Please reach out to our rabbinic staff who would be happy to discuss your various ceremony options.

Here are some additional resources to help you prepare:

Brit Milah: Brit Milah Preparation Letter and Brit Milah Ceremony Guide

Naming/Simchat Bat: Naming/Simchat Bat Preparation Letter and Naming/Simchat Bat Ceremony Guide

It is traditional to have a celebratory meal (Seudat Mitzvah) as part of the celebration. For information about renting space at the Bayit please contact our Executive Director, Richard Langer for assistance.
