Support of the State of Israel is central to our Bayit's mission. Section 3 of our by-laws reads:

"(3) engage in activism to raise a voice of moral conscience; and (4) make the survival and well being of the State of Israel, as well as aliyah, central to its philosophy."

The Bayit has a long and proud tradition of raising a voice through public prayer, protests and rallies both here in Riverdale, as well as at the United Nations, various consulates and even down in Washington.

Our Israel Action Committee is reconstituting  in order to strengthen the lay role in this process, and more information will be available soon.  We hope you will join us!  To volunteer please email

Bayit, is the Hebrew word for Home.  Everyone who enters our doors and joins in our community is encouraged to feel a part of our family.  Please remember that family members joined in love and mutual support often disagree about religion and politics.  Respectful disagreement and discussion about sensitive issues is a hallmark of our Bayit.  Voices are never silenced, even when they promote a viewpoint that is unpopular or controversial.

Throughout the year, we host guest lecturers, film series and special programs on current events in Israel.

Please join us on Yom Ha'atzmaut (Israel Independence Day) for our annual Bronx-wide party in partnership with the Bronx Borough President's office.
