Melave Malka in Memory of Yair Hananya

Saturday, January 31, 2026 13 Shevat 5786

8:30 PM - 9:30 PMLL BM

Continuing the melody of his life Melave Malka with the family of IDF fallen soldier Yair Hananya z"l

Yair Hananya z”l, son of Batya & Shai, fell in battle on November 2, 2024 in Gaza. He was 22 years old when he died. Born and raised in Mitzpeh Netofa in Northern Israel, Yair was a humble, modest young man - who greeted everyone with a smile - welcoming all and beloved by all. Yair was a gifted musician and artist with a unique voice and love of Jewish melodies and songs.

Please join us for a special evening with Yair’s family (Batya & Shai - parents, Nir and Amit - older brothers) . We will hear about his life, his music and the synagogue that the Mitzpeh Netofa community is building in his memory.

At the Melave Malka we will say goodbye to Shabbat and welcome the new week—with soulful melodies (some Yair’s rendition) and sweet community—joined by our beloved Shaliach Tzibur, Dr. Elli Kranzler.

Some of the songs we will sing include Min HameitzarShalom Leven Dodi, and Eim Eshkacheich Yerushalayim performed by Yair Hananya z"l.
