6) Closing Message
As this new week begins, and with it a new parashah – Torah portion, and a new sefer, the book of Bemidbar, I draw strength from the Ramban’s introduction to Bemidbar. He writes, והספר הזה כולו במצות שעה שנצטוו בהם בעמדם במדבר ובנסים הנעשים להם – “this book is entirely made of time-limited, short-term commandments that were commanded to them during and pertaining to their time in the wilderness, and the miracles that God did for them there.” Perhaps the Ramban is reminding us that there are chapters in our lives that are temporary, still on the way to the Promised Land, dwelling in the wilderness. Sometimes we want to forget about those chapters, we wish they were never there, and yet they are a book of our Torah, filled with unique mandates, duties, responsibilities and even miracles. As we live through these coronavirus days, may we truly feel all of its challenges. May we pray that it be indeed very time limited. And - may we embrace its unique duties and responsibilities, and its miracles.     (You can see this closing message in video format here.)

Reminder to all to take good care of ourselves and each other.  Try to do something specific today that strengthens you, and something else that strengthens someone else.

May it be a good day, and a good week,
Rav Steven, Rav Ezra, Rabbanit Bracha, Rabba Sara and Rav Avi
