Help Get Food to Those Who Need - World Central Kitchen
Traditional safety nets like school feeding programs, city services, and food banks are struggling to meet basic needs. Seniors, who are isolated for their safety, are unable to access meal services. Meanwhile, the country’s hospital workers are more stretched than ever before.  WCK is working across America to safely distribute individually packaged, fresh meals in communities that need support. WCK is now active in dozens of cities, including the Bronx, providing 250,000 fresh meals every day. WCK is also now activating restaurants to help meet this demand by providing jobs for their staff and meals for those in need. #ChefsForAmerica is making a key connection between people who need meals and restaurant workers and drivers who need to earn a living. You can support WCK's work here.

4) Closing Message - Bayit Financial Support in Hard Times
Our parashah describes the mitzvah of leaving a corner of our field for those in a circumstance of need using the verb "ta'azov" - "leave those gleanings".  Why "leave", and not "give"?  One answer is that we don't always know who is in need in order to give.  This is so true in this pandemic moment.  We may not always know who has lost income or security, who is newly in need.  Whether your need is smaller or larger, just until the stimulus check comes or more open-ended, and even if you think there are many needier than you, please reach out.  Our Bayit is here with the means to help.  It's not always easy or comfortable to ask, especially the first time, but if you can reach out and let us know, we can support each other.  That's what family and community does. We are all givers and we are all receivers.  If this is a moment when the Bayit can help you financially, please be in touch with a member of our clergy or whomever is most comfortable to reach out to.  Let's be there for each other. (You can see this closing message in video format here.)
Reminder to all to take good care of ourselves and each other.  Try to do something specific today that strengthens you, and something else that strengthens someone else.
May it be a good day,
Rav Steven, Rav Ezra, Rabbanit Bracha, Rabba Sara and Rav Avi
