2) Today's Ways to Help
If you would like to suggest a way to help for the daily email, please send it to  You can find all of these ways to help collected on our Covid-19 Resources page here.
Helping Israelis Suffering Economically from Coronavirus
This Yom Ha'atzmaut, seeing the devastation that coronavirus has wrought on our economies, learn more about Ogen, Israel's extraordinary social lender, creating financial opportunity and building a fairer and stronger economy for all sectors of society.  Ogen's mission is to increase upward economic mobility for low and middle income families and small business owners. Since 1990 Ogen has provided more than 60,000 interest-free loans, totaling more than $300 million.  Ogen’s loans are a platform to drive economic growth and empowerment, closing socio-economic gaps on a national scale.  Their work is even more needed now than ever.
Shopping Buddies
As we continue to adhere to social distancing, we become aware of more members of our community who need assistance with groceries and essential supplies.  We want to discourage “extra” errand running, and are looking to match up shopping buddies with others in their building or neighborhood.  When you plan an online order (preferred) or a shopping excursion, you would check in with your shopping buddy, and see what they need.  We need more volunteers.  If you can help, or want to learn more, please email
3) Upcoming Events - new Thursday programs with Rabbanit Bracha
• Thu 4/30, New! Laying the spiritual groundwork for Shabbat: After the 7:50am Tefillah on Thursdays, stay for a mini-shiur and discussion on the upcoming week of Sefirat HaOmer. Using God's attributes (Sefirot) as a model for our lives, we will follow the path towards personal spiritual refinement as set down by the Kabbalists.
• Thu 4/30, Niggun Circle returns! Each Thursday after Mincha/Ma'ariv join us as we sing Niggunim in wordless song and uplifting melody.

5) Closing Message
Today is the 72nd Yom Haatzmaut - Israeli Independence Day.  As yesterday, it's an opportunity to extend ourselves beyond the constraints and limitations we may feel on a daily basis, especially during this pandemic, to try to connect with something incredible - the modern miracle of Medinat Yisrael.  The blessing and privilege of living in a world with our homeland as an independent nation is nothing short of miraculous.  Let's connect with Israelis in our lives, join some of the many activities taking place, and feel the bonds we have to Medinat Yisrael, reflecting, too, on what our individual and collective role is in helping her be the best Medinat Yisrael possible.
Reminder to all to take good care of ourselves and each other.  Try to do something specific today that strengthens you, and something else that strengthens someone else.
May it be a good day,
Rav Steven, Rav Ezra, Rabbanit Bracha, Rabba Sara and Rav Avi
