Letters and Pictures to Support our Health Care Providers at Allen Hospital
Calling all Bayit children!  Please write letters and pictures that you have drawn addressed to health care providers at our local Allen Hospital. The administration of the health care providers are looking to boost the morale of their staff by creating a wall of letters from children.  If you are able and willing, please send to:
Tina DiMartino
New York Presbyterian Allen Hospital

New York, NY 10034
Shopping Buddies
As we continue to adhere to social distancing, we become aware of more members of our community who need assistance with groceries and essential supplies.  We want to discourage “extra” errand running, and are looking to match up shopping buddies with others in their building or neighborhood.  When you plan an online order (preferred) or a shopping excursion, you would check in with your shopping buddy, and see what they need.  Even if you are not going out, you can be a volunteer.  We need more volunteers.  If you can help, or want to learn more, please email

6) Closing Message
This week's parashah includes the description of the Yom Kippur service, which has as one of its centerpieces the two goats - one sacrificed in the Temple, and the other, weighted with all the sins of the Jewish people, cast out into the wilderness.  Among its many lessons is the idea that two creatures that at first glance look so similar could experience such radically different circumstances.  This feels so true today as people we know and love and see as "just like us" may be experiencing this virus and its effects in such different ways.  Some have little financial impact, and for others it is huge.  Some are less directly connected to victims, and others are deeply affected.  Some have found strong emotional reserves and coping mechanisms, and others have struggled to find calm and peace.  We cannot always know what our neighbors and friends are experiencing - but we can ask with gentle caring curiosity, "how is this affecting you?' and be ready to listen and support.
Reminder to all to take good care of ourselves and each other.  Try to do something specific today that strengthens you, and something else that strengthens someone else.
May it be a good day,
Rav Steven, Rav Ezra, Rabbanit Bracha, Rabba Sara and Rav Avi
