1) Local Outbreak Information - Extra Precaution for Adults Over 60:  We continue to monitor and be in touch with public health officials and our partner institutions around Riverdale.  We must remain vigilant about continuing to practice all best hygiene and social distancing practices.  We have many hard decisions to make with each new phase.  We express our gratitude to a number of our volunteers who have been helping with errands, who are over the age of 60, who opted to pass this responsibility to others and help in other ways from home.

2) Daily Tefillah Zoom Room Continues - Please Add Avinu Malkeinu in Shema Koleinu: At our daily tefillah times, there is a Zoom room we can join to pray in our homes alongside each other.  The room will be open during our regular tefillah times:  Shacharit - Sunday 8:30am-9:00am; Monday-Friday 6:40am-8:30am; Mincha/Maariv - Sunday-Thursday 6:50pm-7:20pm.  The room is set up to mute participants upon entry.  You can unmute to be heard by others.  Please click here to join - this is the permanent link and is also on top of the Bayit's homepage.  At the end of each tefillah slot, a clergy member will teach a Mishnah from Tractate Pesachim to honor the memories of those for whom community members have been saying Kaddish at this time.

For the additional tefillah we are adding in every Shemoneh Esrei from the High Holidays supplication for deliverance from a plague outbreak, please click here

6) Covid-19 Community Impact Survey - please fill out and make a difference: Please fill out this brief survey to help us better understand and address the community’s immediate needs. HIR members and SAR parents, Sarah and Leib Litman (professors of psychology and public health) have collaborated with colleagues at Columbia’s Mailman School of Public Health and NYU Langone’s Infectious Disease Clinic, to create this survey. As one of the first communities in the country to be directly impacted by Covid-19, we have the opportunity to better understand not only our own needs, but also to help communities around the U.S. anticipate their constituents' needs. This study is completely anonymous and an opportunity to share your experience and suggestions. We are interested in your participation whether or not you have been under quarantine and more than one family member is also welcome to participate. Feel free to share this with others who may be impacted. The study has been approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) at Columbia University. For any questions, feedback or suggestion, please feel free to contact Dr. Sarah Weinberger-Litman, or 917-836-4257.

7) Addressing Financial//Resource Needs: As a Bayit, we are here to help each other.  We recognize that the financial and resource tolls of this crisis will only grow.  We are preparing to support our community on many levels.  If you are in current need or expect to be in need, please contact any clergy team member so we can begin to assess need, prepare and provide immediate support.  If you'd like to offer support, please donate here.

8) Mikvah Guidelines Reminder: Please see the most recent mikvah information here.
