Health, Hygiene and the Coronavirus Update

03/06/2020 08:51:04 AM

Dear Friends,

As you may have heard, SAR Academy and High School along with Westchester Torah Academy and Westchester Day School are closed today. This is a precautionary measure in response to a confirmed Coronavirus case in the schools' community.

Our Bayit's staff and leadership is in close contact with other community institutions, and we are closely monitoring the news and guidance from the CDC and the NY Dep't of Health and Mental Hygiene.

Inside our building, our maintenance staff is taking extra care to clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces. We will share more updates as the situation evolves. Please continue to review and follow these NY Department of Health and Mental Hygiene guidelines:

All New Yorkers should continue to practice general flu prevention measures including:

• Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or sleeve, not your hands

• Wash your hands regularly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds

• Avoid touching your face

• Avoid close contact with people who are sick

• Get your flu shot – it’s never too late

• Stay home if you’re feeling sick. Call your doctor and let them know your symptoms and travel history.
