How to Live Greenly
The Bayit and Our Greener Lives
On a snowy Sunday, our Bayit Green Committee presented a forum about protecting our children (and adults as well) from common toxic substances and products typically found in our homes. Dr. Mana Mann from Mt. Sinai Hospital informed us about potential serious health harm posed by many plastics, personal care products, cleaning formulas, and yard care methods. We also learned about how to make changes within our homes and to select purchases wisely in order to create a healthier environment. In addition, we found out about resources for further information and action opportunities.
In order to share this important information that can have a positive impact on our congregation's health and safety, we are pleased to present four compilations of materials that summarize what we learned. Please give us your feedback about this material. After shul on Shabbat mornings, Alisa Eilenberg will be available to discuss how you might like to put changes into place in your own homes if you are inspired to do so, or you can reach Alisa at 718-796-2318 and Ann Rauch at firstname.lastname@example.org.
