JOFA Community Dinner @ The Bayit

Friday Night, January 30, 2015

The next generation of leaders will be in Riverdale for the JOFA Campus Leaders Shabbaton over Parashat Beshalach. JOFA and HIR invite you to join us for a community Friday night dinner with the campus leaders.

JOFA Behind the Scenes: 18 years advocating for change, and lessons learned for navigating 21st century communal politics. College campuses can be sources of innovation and experimentation, but for Jewish students change doesn't always come easy. In 2014, students at some prominent schools are still advocating for the Torah to be carried through the women's section on Shabbat morning. Other campuses are flourishing with female gabbaot and partnership minyanim. We are bringing together college students and experienced JOFA leaders for an evening of learning and discussion, to share tried and true strategies and to brainstorm new tactics for navigating politics on campus and in shul communities.

During dessert the college students will lead a table discussion,
followed by a post-dessert chat featuring
JOFA founder and Bayit member Blu Greenberg,
JOFA Executive Director Dr. Sharon Weiss-Greenberg, and Dan Perla!
Moderated by: Anat Barber
